More Than Freedom: The Rise of the Sovereign Soul
As we celebrate Independence Day here in the U.S., I’ve been reflecting on my own definitions and beliefs about freedom. I used to hold the concept of Freedom as one of my core values, and navigated many years of my life holding that frequency.
The Essence of Freedom: The state of being free from restriction, oppression, or external control.
This was decades ago when I moved off to college and away from my family. Learning to drive felt so free, that I could drive anywhere I wanted whenever I wanted. Yet, I didn’t find freedom in all areas of my life, as I still loved to create co-dependent relationships and found external systems to decide my actions (I followed all rules laid out for me, no questions asked).
But for many of us walking a conscious path, external freedom is just the beginning.
The Essence of Independence: The ability to function autonomously, without reliance on others.
I was fiercely independent, and extremely capable of doing almost anything all by myself. I learned many skills and honed many crafts in this period of my life. But in many ways this journey through freedom led to isolation, loneliness, and hyper-individualism.
A couple years ago, I found a new core value that served me even better: Sovereignty.
The Essence of Sovereignty: A state of inner rulership and responsibility; self-governance rooted in love, clarity, and wholeness.
Sovereignty is not about anyone or anything else. It is a deep inner knowing “I am in charge of myself”. I get to choose how I show up in the world and how to navigate life. I am aware of how my energy affects others and vice versa, and I am equal to everyone else. I am not “above” others, but fully within myself, and from that centered place, I am the conscious creator of my experience.
The journey itself is very multidimensional, because we are not just liberating ourselves from our parents, identities, traumas, old stories, or societal expectations. But we are realizing our personal power by taking our gaze off of the external world and bringing it home, to ourselves.

Ok, so now I had Sovereignty as a pillar, but it still felt like something was missing. I had a deep remembering to a whole new level of the fact “There is only so much I could do alone.” In so many ways, we need each other. Not for only for our own survival, but for expanded levels of evolution and co-creation. That’s where Interdependence shows up.
The Essence of Interdependence: A dynamic, conscious collaboration between sovereign beings who choose to be in mutual support, care, and exchange.
Interdependence is not a compromise of sovereignty, but the highest expression of it. It is the architecture of New Earth: sovereign individuals choosing to weave their gifts together for something greater. It resonates with unity consciousness and divine partnership on all levels (personal, communal, planetary).
I am sovereign. You are sovereign. Let’s create together!
I am currently exploring my interdependence in deep and meaningful ways. Not only just in my personal relationships, but also in the way I show up in community and with clients. I recognize everyone as my sister or brother, walking their own walk, sovereign in their own experience. I am learning a whole new language of invitation and consent in grander ways, while offering others the example of self-empowerment and sovereignty.
To further this interdependence in my practice, I encourage my clients to set their own intentions for our energy sessions together. Together we can use our energy intuition session to co-create whatever we want to create together! While there are some ways that I do not like to create, there are many ways that I am open to co-creating with you!
